2022 Port Macquarie Teams ChallengeJune 11th and 12th Presentation will be held at Settlers Inn

The Port Macquarie Teams Challenge is the only event of its kind in the world! Bodyboarding clubs from all around Australia pit the best 10 riders from their clubs against each other to claim the title of ‘best club in the nation’. This unique event is steeped in history with the first event being run way back in 1988! The Teams event soon became one of the premier events in Australia with clubs from all over the nation taking part and rivalries between teams started to follow. Up to 10 teams competing in this event will see 100 bodyboarders, plus supporters, converge on Port Macquarie beaches over the 3 days of the June long weekend.

Competition Format:

The team you enter must have 10 riders that consist of:

1 x Drop Knee1 x U/18 Bodyboarder prone
8 x prone bodyboarders ranked from 1 to 8 (this is to ensure the riders of the same or similar ability surf against each other)

Riders can not compete in both dropknee and prone

Riders can not be changed in the heat draw once it has been finalised

There will be 24 heats per day and heats start at 7:00 am sharp!

There will be 4 man heats - 20 minutes for each heat for prone

There will be 5 man heats for dropknee and U/18 riders

U/18 competitors will compete over 4 x 5 man heats against each other

Other important things to note:

Team check-in will be held at Settlers Inn Friday 10th time TBA

The Presentation will be held once again at our major Sponsor Settlers Inn Hotel on Sunday afternoon from 5 pm so come in for a feed and beer to get the celebrations started

Luke Ottaway will do the Final day Heat Call from around 6pm.

Application money will be refunded if application is unsuccessful. In consideration of acceptance of my (club/teams) entry, I intend to be legally bound, do hereby for myself, my heirs and administrators waive, release and forever discharge any and all rights and claims for damages which may hereafter accrue against the competition, it’s officials, employees, agents and contest sponsors, of any and all liability and responsibility arising from any injury received or incurred by participating in the Port Macquarie Teams Challenge. I will inspect the contest area and assure myself that the area is safe for body boarding and further agree that the area conditions are safe for body boarding purposes. Further I acknowledge that I voluntarily assume all risks arising from the conditions relating the use of the contest site and surfing area by myself or others, I will comply with the contest rules and any rules announced at the event. I agree to the release of all official photography and video footage taken during this event, and its subsequent use by the contest director and sponsors.
